Local Living was born when Ali Assadhu returned to his island roots during the lockdown, leaving city life behind. What began as a search for inspiration grew into a deep admiration for the traditions and cultures he realized were slowly fading.

He started documenting the real Maldivian life he grew up with The Locals, the Culture, the traditions and the everyday moments that rarely get recorded. This personal project soon became a purpose.

Today, Local Living continues that mission, capturing stories from the Maldives and from communities around the world, so these ways of life can be seen, valued and remembered.
