Stock Licence & Membership Terms

These terms govern Local Living Library memberships, individual stock purchases and use of downloaded photographs and films. By subscribing, purchasing or downloading, you agree to these terms and the licence shown at checkout or download.

Ownership

Local Living and its contributors retain copyright and all ownership rights. Payment grants a limited licence; it does not transfer copyright or ownership of an original file.

Individual licences

An individual purchase is licensed only for the usage, duration and buyer named at checkout. A one-time social licence covers one published social post. A one-publication editorial licence covers one identified editorial publication. A campaign licence covers the campaign and duration selected. Continued or additional use requires a new licence.

Membership licences

An active member may download originals up to the allowance shown for the selected plan and billing period. Each completed download creates a non-exclusive commercial licence for that member. Allowances reset at the start of the next billing period, do not roll over and have no cash value. Downloaded work may remain published after cancellation only when first published lawfully during an active membership and kept within the original campaign and permitted use.

Who may use a licence

A membership may be purchased by an individual, creator, company or organisation. The account holder is the licensee. Agency members may use assets in finished work produced for clients, but may not give clients or third parties the standalone original files or permit reuse outside the licensed project. Each account is for one authorised login unless a written agreement says otherwise.

Permitted and prohibited use

Permitted commercial use is limited by the selected licence and may include websites, organic social media, editorial publishing or advertising where expressly included. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute or offer an asset as a standalone file; use it in a logo or trademark; portray a person in a defamatory, deceptive, political, adult or otherwise sensitive context without written approval; remove ownership notices from previews; or claim authorship.

AI restriction: Assets and previews may not be uploaded to generative-AI systems, used for model training, fine-tuning, datasets, synthetic-media generation, biometric analysis or automated facial recognition.

Subscriptions, trials and renewals

Stripe subscriptions renew automatically monthly or annually at the price displayed at checkout until cancelled. A trial converts to the stated monthly plan when the trial ends unless cancelled beforehand. You can cancel through “Manage or cancel” in the member account. Cancellation stops future renewal and access continues through the paid period unless applicable law requires otherwise. BML Swipe memberships are prepaid and do not renew automatically unless explicitly stated.

Downloads and availability

Keep your licence document and maintain your own secure backup after download. We may replace, correct or remove content for legal, safety or quality reasons. If a paid individual file is unavailable or materially defective, contact us for a replacement or appropriate refund.

Prices and taxes

Prices are shown in the checkout currency. Stripe may calculate applicable tax from the billing location and tax information supplied. Customers remain responsible for taxes, withholding or reporting obligations not collected at checkout. Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and is not tax advice.

Accounts and acceptable use

Keep login codes and links secure. Do not share accounts, scrape the library, bypass download limits, interfere with the service or use content unlawfully. We may suspend access for suspected fraud, infringement or material breach while we investigate.

Refunds, liability and law

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Nothing excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, subject to mandatory rights available where the customer lives.
