Local Living was born when Ali Assadhu returned to his island roots during the lockdown, leaving city life behind. What began as a search for inspiration grew into a deep admiration for the traditions and cultures he realized were slowly fading.
He started documenting the real Maldivian life he grew up with — The Locals, the Culture, the traditions and the everyday moments that rarely get recorded. This personal project soon became a purpose.
Today, Local Living continues that mission, capturing stories from the Maldives and from communities around the world, so these ways of life can be seen, valued and remembered.
